JANUARY 2017 NEWSLETTER

HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL!

Welcome back from the Christmas Holidays – we cannot believe we are already in the third week of January!!

Planning:

This first half of the spring term we will be looking at people who help us.  We are concentrating on police officers, vets and the fire service, you may have already noticed our police station in the role play corner! The children have had a great time ‘arresting’ their peers for breaking Nursery rules!  We will be inviting people in to talk to the children so if you know of anybody who would be willing to visit please see Debbie.  We will also be organising a visit to the fire station – please keep an eye on the FB page for times of visits.

The second half term we will be focusing on The Chinese New Year and Machines.

Funding:

Parents please be aware the last week of term 27th – 31st March is also unfunded.  Nursery will be open but places will be charged.

The funding runs for 38 weeks of the year and runs with the financial year which is April to March.  The summer term 2016 was funded for 14 weeks; the autumn term 2016 was 14 weeks therefore the spring term 2017 will be funded for 10 weeks, although the term itself is 12 weeks long. Easter being later in April has affected the funding.

Door release:

Please can ALL parents ensure children do not press the door release button. We are aware it is at a convenient height but this is to allow for wheelchair users to be able to activate it.  It is a safeguarding issue for us especially if there are several children leaving and others arriving.

Lost Property:

We again seem to have accumulated lost property and it is now located on the table at the end of the cloakroom.  Please look to see if any of the property belongs to your child as it will be taken to the local charity shop at the end of January.

Holiday club:

As you are probably aware, forms are already available for the half term (13th – 17th February).

Easter holiday club will be 3rd – 13th April, with Brambles being closed for Good Friday on the 14th and Easter Monday on the 17th as these are bank holidays.  Forms will be available soon.

Facebook:

This group seems to be working really well and we are pleased to see Parents posting and others commenting.  Any parents yet to sign into the page please send a request to join.

Thankyou
