A Typical Day – Rising 3’s
Growing in confidence & independence
Our Rising Threes room supports children as they become increasingly
independent, curious and confident, with lots of opportunities to
make choices, explore and learn through play.
Learning to do more for themselves
This is an exciting stage of development. Children are beginning to
express their own ideas, build friendships and develop the confidence
to do more independently.
Our team provides a balance of child-led play, group experiences and
carefully planned activities, while allowing plenty of flexibility
for the individual needs and interests of each child.
Good morning 🌿
Children are welcomed into the room and encouraged to settle
themselves in for the day. Simple routines such as finding
their name and joining in with our good-morning activities
help build confidence and a sense of belonging.
Our little café 🍎
Snack time is about much more than eating. Children are
encouraged to develop independence by washing their hands,
making choices, helping themselves where appropriate and
learning to manage their plate, cup and belongings.
Sitting together also provides lots of opportunities for
conversation, confidence and developing social skills.
Choose, explore & create 🎨
Children have opportunities to follow their own interests
through a wide variety of play. This might include the mud
kitchen, water and sand play, construction, painting,
imaginative play, puzzles, stories and outdoor exploration.
Stories, songs & rhymes 📚
Throughout the day we come together for stories, songs,
rhymes and other small-group experiences. These help support
children’s communication, listening skills and confidence
while keeping learning playful and enjoyable.
Learning through play ✨
Our practitioners introduce activities based around children’s
interests and development. These may include messy and sensory
play, cooking, music, movement, creative activities, treasure
hunts, games and physical challenges.
Lunch together 🍽️
Children come together for a relaxed and sociable lunchtime.
They can enjoy a hot meal prepared at Brambles or bring a
suitable packed lunch from home, while continuing to practise
their growing independence.
More time to discover 🌱
The afternoon brings more opportunities for free-flow play,
outdoor exploration, creative experiences and activities
based around the children’s interests.
“I can do it!”
We encourage children to have a go, make choices and take part in
everyday routines for themselves. These small achievements help
develop confidence, self-esteem, independence and important social
skills as children prepare for their next stage at Brambles.
A little extra fun
🎵 Wednesday Zumba
Our Rising Threes enjoy a fun Zumba session each Wednesday.
Through music and movement, children can dance, get active,
build confidence and, most importantly, have lots of fun!
